Scholastic Open Preliminaries - 83.90

Scholastic Open Semi-Finals - 83.65

This past weekend at FFCC Championships the Blue Guard came in 8th with a score of 73 in Scholastic AA. The Gold Guard came in third with a score of 84.2 in Scholastic Open. The Gold Guard leaves Wednesday to travel to Dayton, OH for World Championships! They will compete in prelims on Thursday.

About the Lyman Diamonds:

The Lyman Diamonds, have been under the direction of Mr. Stephen Porter since 2000. Since beginning competition in 2001, we have moved from Novice to Scholastic A class.

In 2009, the Lyman Diamond Winter Guard team earned the Bronze medal in the Scholastic A category at the wgi in Dayton, Ohio. The Diamonds have consistently been also been a WGI regional finalist since 2005.

The Lyman Diamonds Winter Guard troupe is a sister group to the Marching Greyhounds Dance Team & Color Guard who appear in the Disney Christmas Parade, the Daytona 500, Lyman’s Winter and Spring Dance Showcases and other Seminole County venues.

We also perform with the Marching Band at Varsity Football games and Marching Band competitions. The Marching Greyhounds, under the Direction of Mr. Bill Muse and Mr. Stephen Porter, consistently place at the Superior level in the Florida Bandmaster and Seminole County Band Festivals.

We appeared in the 2004 Nokia Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, marched in the 2006 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in New York City, and in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta on New Year’s Eve, 2007.
